Sikuya Oeste experienced fairly rapid growth during the Tiwanaku Period. Sector C has a population index value of 157 (3.0 ha), up from 70 for the LF2 Sector B. This is an annual growth rate of 0.12%, considerably higher than the Taraco Peninsula phase average. Taking the two Sikuya sites (T-319/T-320) together, we observe an annual population growth rate of 0.04% for the entire island. This is lower than the phase average and would seem to indicate a degree of outmigration. Again, however, we must remember that population index estimates for the Sikuya Oeste are complicated by considerable modern disturbance.
